Wymara Resort & Villas is a very special place. It’s the smallest hotel we’ve reviewed, with just 49 guest rooms (and another 25 private villas), but it’s also one of the most exclusive and remote. Set on its own private island in the pristine Caicos Islands, Wymara is accessible only by seaplane or a 40-minute boat ride from the main island of Providenciales. It’s not your average tropical getaway. This adults-only resort isn’t sold on beaches and cocktails; instead it offers pampering spa treatments, gourmet dining, private villas with personal butlers and 24-hour concierge services. There are no kids or pets allowed, so anyone who stays here is there to relax and get away from it all – and as an added bonus, everything you could possibly want or need is included in your stay…

Best season to visit
Due to its remote location, Wymara is an all-year-round destination. The weather is tropical, but it’s generally a little cooler from December through April. The only time you might want to avoid is the hurricane season, which runs from June to November. Although South Caicos is less susceptible to hurricanes than the more populous Providenciales, it still pays to keep an eye on the forecast.

Other Activities

You can enjoy some of the best snorkeling in the world at the Wymara. Fishing is a great sport that can be practiced by almost anyone, regardless of age or experience level. ATV-ing is one of the best ways to explore the island. Some of the islands are home to a variety of wild horses that can be seen during a horseback riding excursion. There are a few golf courses in the Turks and Caicos Islands, and Wymara provides complimentary golf cart rental as an added benefit for guests.
Pros and Cons
Pros: With its remote location and ultra-luxury amenities, Wymara is perhaps the most exclusive and remote resort in the Caribbean. It’s a great place to completely unplug, get away from it all, and enjoy some serious pampering. It’s also great for groups and couples, as it’s not the kind of place that’s overrun with kids. Cons: Because it’s so remote and exclusive, Wymara is not cheap. It’s not a place you can afford on a whim. It’s also not for families or people who want a party atmosphere.
Location
The location of Wymara is perhaps the biggest downside of the resort. While there are plenty of great places to visit in the Caribbean, most of them can be reached by plane, train, or car relatively easily. Wymara, on the other hand, is only accessible by boat or seaplane. Wymara is located in the southernmost tip of the Turks and Caicos Islands. South Caicos is the smallest of the islands, and it’s only accessible by boat or seaplane.
Bottom line
Wymara is a very special place. It’s remote and exclusive, so it’s not for everyone. But if you’re looking for a place to completely unplug, get some serious pampering, and enjoy some excellent dining, then Wymara is an excellent choice.
