With its sparkling blue waters, sandy beaches, and lush green mountains all visible from the hotel, the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort offers an ideal retreat for visitors. The hotel is located directly on the beach on the south side of Oahu between a small mountain and the ocean, making it perfect for sunsets. As one of the largest hotels within walking distance to Waikiki Beach, it’s no surprise that this resort was voted “Best Hotel Value” by "Hawaii Magazine" in 2016 and 2017. What you may not expect is that this large property consists of several smaller boutique-like buildings with a tropical feel. We spent two nights at Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort and have details on everything you need to know about staying there like we did.

Best season to visit
If you want to experience the best of Oahu, visit anytime between April and October when the weather is warm but not too hot. This is the best time to see whales in the Hawaiian Islands. During this time, sunsets are also visible from the beach with a spectacular rainbow on the horizon. The downside to visiting during these months is that they are the wettest times of the year. If you visit between November and March, the weather is pleasant, but it can get chilly. You might find fewer crowds and lower hotel rates as well.
