The Marriot is one of the oldest hotels on the Strip, and its age shows in some ways. But we think it remains a fantastic value, a great place to stay, and an important part of Vegas history. The old-school vibe has been well-preserved with Tiffany stained glass windows, marble floors, and Victorian-inspired paneling. And that’s just the lobby! The hotel has undergone lots of renovations to recapture its former glory in recent years, so don’t worry if you read something negative about this property – they fixed everything that was broken! Check out our complete review of the Marriott Las Vegas Hotel and find out what it’s like to stay here today.

Awards and Recogniton

This is a classic property that has won tons of awards and accolades. Some of the most notable include:

  • AAA Four Diamond Award Since 1999
  • Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Award Since 2003
  • Condé Nast Traveler Gold List Award Since 2010 - Top 10 Las Vegas Hotels

Best season to visit

You can visit the Marriot any time of year and have a good time. However, keep in mind that summer is hot and humid, and there can be occasional heat waves in fall and spring. The coldest months are normally December and January. Adequate rainfall is about 15 inches per year, which is a little less than the national average. We don’t recommend visiting the resort in July or August. It’s extremely hot and humid during these months. If you prefer to avoid crowds, or have children in school, avoid the winter holidays. Spring break is also a busy period.

Amenities

The Marriot has many amenities both inside and outside the hotel. Inside, you’ll find a fitness center with lots of equipment, a pool, and a spa. There’s also a small business center with computers and printers. If you want to stay active while you’re in Vegas, the hotel offers bike rentals, a free shuttle to the airport and convention center, and a free shuttle to the Wynn and Palazzo next door. If you want to relax, there’s a small but nice Japanese garden. There’s also an outdoor pool on the 10th floor. Inside the casino, you’ll find lots of games and slot machines, a sports book, a bar, and a few restaurants. There’s no host club.

Getting there

You can fly into McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. There are also lots of options for ground transportation. You can hop on a bus from the airport, ride a shuttle from your hotel or stay-cation. You can also rent a car or use a ride-hailing service. The Marriot is about 1/4 mile from the airport, about 1.5 miles from the strip and about 2 miles from downtown. It’s a short walk from the Convention Center. The monorail from the Convention Center to the strip costs $8 one way. The bus from the airport is $3. Bus tickets are sold in $6 units. You can buy a day pass for $8 if you will be traveling back and forth often.

Things to Know Before You Go to The Marriot

The hotel is almost 100 years old, so it’s not as modern as some of the newly-built hotels on the Strip. The room decor is Victorian-inspired, so don’t expect modern furnishings. There are a few restaurants and bars, but don’t expect the same number of dining options as at other hotels on the Strip. There’s no casino host. The pool is on the 10th floor. There’s no beach or water feature. The convention center is nearby, but not connected.

Final Words: Should You Stay At The Marriot in Las Vegas?

If you want to stay in the center of the Strip, the Marriot is a great choice. The location means you’ll be close to lots of casinos and shopping, but far enough away that the noise won’t bother you at night. The room rates are also very affordable at this property, making it a great value overall. We think the Marriot is a good choice for most types of travelers. It’s not one of the newest hotels, but it’s clean and well-maintained, and the staff are friendly. Most importantly, the hotel offers the amenities you need for a great vacation, and it’s within your budget!
