The Kahala Hotel and Resort is a hidden paradise located on the northern side of Oahu. It’s one of the most exclusive hotels in Hawaii as you need to be either a member of the Kaha Society or a guest at another nearby hotel like The Royal Hawaiian or Moana to get reservations here. Thankfully, with some effort and planning, anyone can stay here without needing connections or insider knowledge. The Kahala Hotel and Resort is an old hotel that has recently been renovated and updated from top to bottom. What once was an outdated hotel has now been transformed into one of the most modern hotels in all of Hawaii. It’s still rather small with just 112 rooms but it does have everything you could possibly want during your vacation. There are also several excellent restaurants on-site for when you don’t feel like going out but still want delicious food (aside from room service). Here is our complete review of The Kahala Hotel and Resort if you’re considering staying there on your next trip to Hawaii.

Awards and Recognition

The Kahala Hotel and Resort has been recognized by many travel publications as one of the best hotels in Hawaii. It’s been given high praise for its excellent service, amazing location, and beautiful rooms that are well-suited for couples and families. Of course, as with nearly all travel awards and recognition, there is no guarantee that you will have the same experience as the people who have rated this hotel so highly. But it is definitely a good sign that others have loved it as much as we did. One thing that’s certain is that The Kahala Hotel and Resort is a perfect place to stay if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu. It’s located on the northern side of the island, far away from the crowds and noise of Waikiki. It will still take you an hour to drive to get there, but that’s time you will be able to spend in silence with no traffic jams or stop lights to slow you down.

Best season to visit

The Kahala Hotel and Resort is open year-round so there is no “off season” to stay here. That said, there are certain seasons that are more popular than others due to weather and other factors. The winter months, from December to February, are when most people visit Hawaii. However, if you are looking for a lower hotel price and less crowded beaches, then October, November, and March would be the best months to stay here.

Amenities

The hotel is located next to Kahala Beach and Golf Course, which is an excellent amenity for those staying here. You can enjoy the sun and surf, or even play a round of golf, without having to leave the property. There is also an oceanfront pool and a small beach that’s perfect for families with kids. The spa at The Kahala Hotel and Resort is one of the best spas in Hawaii. It is located in a very peaceful and serene area that is perfect for unwinding. The spa offers a wide variety of treatments and beauty services, including the best massage in the state.

The Good Stuff

The rooms at The Kahala Hotel and Resort are spacious, modern, and well-equipped. You can choose between ocean view, garden view, and city view rooms depending on your preference. Every room has a private balcony, a king-sized bed, a high-end mini-bar, free Wi-Fi, and satellite TV. There is also a great on-site restaurant that serves delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The Not-So-Good Stuff

If you are used to staying at fancy and upscale hotels, this might not be the best choice for you. It’s a very small and quaint hotel that is more like a bed and breakfast than a fancy resort. However, it’s perfect if you want to get away from all the crowds and noise of Honolulu and enjoy a more peaceful vacation.

Getting there

The Kahala Hotel and Resort is located about 30 minutes from Honolulu International Airport. There are several ways to get to the hotel, including by car, bus, or shuttle from other nearby hotels. Given the distance from the airport, you should plan to get to the hotel as soon as possible after your flight lands. If you have your own car, you can drive to the hotel and park your car for free at the hotel’s garage. This will save you time, especially if you have a large luggage. If you don’t have your own car, you can take the TheBus from the airport to Waikiki and get off at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Then, take a shuttle from the Hilton Hawaiian Village to The Kahala Hotel and Resort.

Bottom Line

The Kahala Hotel and Resort is an old hotel that has recently been renovated and updated from top to bottom. What once was an outdated hotel has now been transformed into one of the most modern hotels in all of Hawaii. It’s still rather small with just 112 rooms but it does have everything you could possibly want during your vacation. The hotel is located next to Kahala Beach and Golf Course and is a great place to get away from the crowds and noise of Honolulu. It is not the cheapest hotel in Hawaii but it is one of the most exclusive ones that only certain people can stay at. If you are looking for the best place to stay in Hawaii, The Kahala Hotel and Resort is a great choice.
