The Marina Riviera hotel is located above the harbor of Amalfi on the Gulf of Salerno in southern Italy. It’s an intimate, boutique hotel with just 43 rooms, that has been designed with a maritime theme and overlooks the marina and town of Amalfi. The location could not be better for exploring this historic town and its lush green surroundings. It’s also a great base from which to explore the rest of the coast, especially if you love hiking and exploring small villages. The hotel itself is beautifully finished with a combination of dark wood furnishings and some stunning views. The bedrooms are light, airy and comfortable, with private terraces offering amazing views over the sea. Most have double beds but there are also triple rooms available for families or groups of friends who want to stay together. There’s also wheelchair accessibility throughout the hotel, including bathrooms, which is always nice to see!

Awards and Recognition

This stunning hotel has been awarded TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence for three years in a row. It’s also been recognized as one of the best hotels in Italy by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler. Additionally, it’s been hailed as one of the best hotels in the world by the New York Times and the Best Luxury Hotels of Italy by Travel + Leisure. And it was even voted one of the 10 most romantic hotels in the world by CNN! These are some seriously impressive accolades for a hotel in such a small and remote destination. Honestly, the Marina Riviera is a real gem, and it’s not surprising that it’s been featured in so many best-of lists for travel.

Best season to visit

While the Amalfi Coast is a beautiful destination all year round, there are some differences between the seasons. As far as weather goes, the best months to visit are June, July, and August. These months usually have the best weather, with average temperatures of around 23 degrees Celsius. July and August are the most popular months, so book early if you want to avoid crowds. During these months, you can also expect festivals, concerts, and general celebrations. If you visit in spring (March and April) or fall (September and October), you may find the weather a little cooler though temperatures generally remain between 10 and 20 degrees Celsius. However, these are also the most popular months, so book early if you want to avoid crowds.

Amenities

The hotel offers a number of amenities, including a rooftop terrace with a gorgeous view, a gym, and a sauna. There are a number of activities you can do in the area, but keep in mind that the Amalfi Coast is one of the most popular vacation destinations in southern Italy. As such, it can get very busy and crowded during the summer. The best time to visit is from October to May, when it’s less busy and you can enjoy the lovely weather. You can go on boat excursions, go scuba diving, take hot air balloon tours, explore the coastline by boat or kayak, or visit the nearby island of Capri. There are also many interesting historical and architectural sites in the area, including churches, museums, and archaeological sites.

Breakfast at Amalfi Coast Hotel

The hotel’s breakfast buffet is one of the best we’ve ever seen. The dining room with views over the bay of Amalfi is really something special. The menu changes daily and offers a wide selection of baked goods, fresh pastries, fruit, yogurt, granola, eggs (cooked to order), meat and fish options, and more. The service is excellent, and you can also enjoy fresh juices, coffee, and tea. If you’re still hungry after all that, you can order more, or you can go for a swim to work off some of the calories!

Getting there

The town of Amalfi is a major cruise ship destination, so many visitors come by cruise ship. You can also fly into Naples and take a bus or taxi to Amalfi. The drive is about an hour. The closest major airports are Rome and Naples; however, there are also airports in Positano, Sorrento, and Salerno. If you choose to arrive by cruise ship, you can simply walk or take a taxi from the port to the hotel. If you choose to fly into Naples or fly into one of the other nearby airports, you will have to take a bus or taxi to Amalfi.

Final thoughts

The Marina Riviera is the perfect place to stay if you want to explore the Amalfi Coast. It’s located in the heart of the action, but tucked away above the harbor for some privacy. The hotel is a real gem, and it’s understandable why it’s been featured in so many best-of lists. It’s hard to top the amazing views, great service, and tasty breakfast. If you’re looking for an amazing place to stay while exploring the Amalfi Coast, look no further than the Marina Riviera.
