St. George's Caye is a remote island in the Caribbean Sea known for its rainforest, reefs, pristine beaches, and turquoise waters. It is part of the Belize District in Central America. St. George’s Caye Resort is nine miles from Belize City on a horseshoe-shaped caye. It is the only business on the island.

St. George's Caye Resort is a secluded, rustic private island resort run by locals from Belize. The resort offers twelve air-conditioned, lovely, thatched hut cabanas and villas. The cabanas feature a covered porch with a hammock, and the villas offer a veranda. Several options of where you want to stay on the island are available. There are inland villa suites, oceanfront or garden cabanas, or an overwater cabana. All cabanas sleep two to three people, and the Villa can sleep six comfortably. Each features a comfortable King size bed with an en-suite bathroom decorated in a rustic island motif with Belizean hardwoods.

The fantastic customer service is what brings guests back to St. George’s Cay Resort. From the time you arrive until your departure, the resort staff will pamper you with luxury. Wake up to fresh fruit juice and aromatic coffee every morning at your door. Full breakfast is available in the restaurant. Our staff prepares delicious meals featuring local fresh delicacies, fruits, and some American favorites.

Awards The Resort Has Received

Awards are rare for a small resort in a remote location. However, St. George’s Caye Resort has been recognized for its outstanding service. St. George’s Caye Resort has won the Traveler’s Choice Award from TripAdvisor in both 2022 and 2021. The Belize Tourism Association has awarded the resort the Health and Safety Medal.

The Best Time to Visit Belize

Late November to mid-April is a popular time to visit an island with temperatures in the low to mid-80s, the dry season, and the clear and calm waters. This peak season draws thousands of tourists, but attractions may be crowded. April and May bring mists of humidity and temperatures are higher.

June to mid-November have showers and strong winds. If you want to beat the tourists and don't mind, the rainy season visit in September and October, but some establishments may shut down during the off-season. In the coastal areas, there can be" Northers" or periodic gusts of wind in December-February. There is continuous sunshine in the area. But you can catch great deals on hotels and attractions if you don't mind a few showers. March and early April also have more moderate hotel rates.

How To Get There

Many Airlines fly into Belize. It is a 45-minute car or shuttle trip from Caye Caulker Airport. St. George's Caye Resort is located 7 miles by boat transfer from the Belize City marina. You can arrange for a hotel shuttle to meet you at the airport or the marina.

Pros of St. George's Caye Resort

Whatever you feel like doing for the day, a concierge can arrange it. Full-day excursions include deep-sea fishing, cave tubing, scuba diving, zip-lining, or exploring the Mayan Ruins. Not interested in an all-day activity? There are plenty of complimentary activities available there. Relax at the private beach with comfortable cabanas, take a dip in the saline swimming pool, snorkel off the coast, fish off the dock, go kayaking or windsurfing, or Hobie Cat sailing.

Its rooms and facilities are kept impeccably clean and beautiful daily and regularly sanitized for the health and welfare of guests.

It is large enough to socialize and dine with other guests yet small enough for an intimate dinner for two and some alone time.

Disadvantages of St. George’s Caye Resort

  • An adults-only resort is small with 12 rooms, so it books up quickly in the season.
  • Mosquitos on the island are plentiful. Insects are not their fault; any jungle island has insects. Make sure you bring deep woods mosquito spray.
  • The resort rooms do not have Wi-Fi. Guests that require Wi-Fi can access it in the bar, lodge, restaurant, or the business center.

When you need a paradise vacation to get away from it all and do what you want, St. George’s Caye Resort is the perfect place for you. Relax and be pampered, play in the azure water and enjoy the white sand beaches all day. Explore the jungle and ancient Mayan Ruins.
