Santorini has long been recognized as a luxury vacation spot. And of the many all-inclusive hotels on the volcanic island, we believe that Astarte Suites is up there as one of the best. This 5-star hotel is breathtaking, with views to die for! For this reason, it is a go-to hotel for those looking for romantic getaways, honeymoons, and for luxurious breaks away from home too.
Awards Won by This Hotel
As you’d probably expect, Astarte Suites is no stranger to the odd award or two. Then again, it is a 5-star resort on the tip of Santorini. There are several accolades sitting in the locker of this hotel. On the main site, you’ll see that Astarte Suites boasts a ‘2018 hall of fame’ award, issued by Tripadvisor. As you’ll probably know, Tripadvisor is one of the biggest travel and review agencies in the world.
Also, on Tripadvisor, Astarte Suites was listed as one of the top 25 places to stay in Greece. Bear in mind, that there are thousands of hotels throughout the country, so this is pretty epic. And finally, Astarte Suites has also been voted as one of the ‘top 21 hotels in the world to visit before you die’.
For us, this is even more significant than the previous two awards.
Busiest and Best Times to Visit Astarte Suites
Of course, the busiest time of year for this boutique property is the summer, when Greece becomes a tourist hotspot. That’s also why summer is referred to as ‘peak season’. With that said, peak season does come with its setbacks. You can expect to pay the most for a stay at Astarte Suites, and the hotel will be jam-packed too.
So, if you want to avoid the price hike and the crowds, the best time to go is after the peak season finishes. It would be around September. The temperatures aren’t as baking as in the summer, the hotel is calmer and quieter, and you will experience luxury without being overwhelmed by crowds or prices.
Rooms & Services Available
Amenities
The fun of discussing 5-star resorts is always found in the amenities. And at Astarte Suites, there are many that give you that ‘wow’ factor. This hotel is home to 15 suites, each with its own balcony and in-room jacuzzi. Not enough for you? The rooms also have stocked mini-bars, private pools, and Swarowski crystals lining the ceilings. How about that for luxury? Of course, you also get things like satellite TV, bath robes and slippers, and your own A/C unit.
As for the hotel, it has a spa (complimentary), laundry and pressing services, butler services, and even make-up stylists!
Getting There
It’s easy to get to Astarte Suites from the main airport in Santorini. By booking with the hotel, you automatically get transfers thrown in. These are supplied by luxury vans, each with plenty of space, A/C, and tinted windows. After all, this luxury hotel often hosts the rich and famous, who don’t always want to be seen. The journey takes roughly 25 - 30 mines, as it’s a 13km journey around the volcanic cliffs of the island.
Advantages
It’s a 5-star resort built for luxury. But for us, the three key advantages include privacy, incredible views of the sea, and the overall relaxation factor.
We’ve chosen these three as they often rank as the main ‘pros’ from guests at the hotel. All rooms come with private pools, private jacuzzis, and private terraces. The views are simply to die for, especially from the infinity pools in each room. As for the relaxation factor, with on-site spas, massages, pedicure/manicure services, and even make-up services, it just doesn’t get better.
Disadvantages for Astarte Suites
There are very few disadvantages, but like all hotels, there are some to mention. The price is a major drawback, as such luxury can cost you a minimum of $500 per night. It puts the hotel out of the price range for many. And also, those who love to make friends and get into the vibe when they are abroad might find this hotel a little too quiet. It’s all built for privacy and relaxation.
Conclusion
Would we recommend Astarte Suites for potential guests? Absolutely. It’s a sensational hotel that everyone should try and visit once in their lives. The staff here is dedicated, friendly, and courteous, and they will make every possible for their guests to feel special and welcomed. Just try, and avoid the peak of summer, if possible, as a friendly reminder!
